Hi
I have surecome EP 320x V/V1 ethernet card, i have downloaded the driver from the surecome website, with that, i can install it in my 98, but cant use it in my XP.
XP does nt even tell me that a ethernet card exists (no pop-up ballon came after putting it in the socket)
what should i do, i have tried several drivers from the website and few more from other sources, but nothing happened.
help me please

You are not by any chance putting the Ethernet Card in the socket while the computer is switched on are you?
First thing to do is look in the BIOS boot screen and see if it shows up there. If not you have to get the BIOS to recognise it before you can go any further.
If you show up in the BIOS then look in device manager and see if there is anything there. Unless it shows up in Device Manager then it is not going to be able to load a driver.
Drivers for Windows XP are going to be different than drivers for 98. It is extremely unlikely that one driver will work on both.
Stuart

thanks for the follow ups.
i mentioned that i am using it on 98, means windows 98. so i dont think i need to look into the BIOS
In the device manager, it does show an ethernet card available, but it does not load the drivers.
and yes i have used different drivers for XP and 98, i downloaded for both the systems. i know that 98 drivers wont work on XP
and this card is WINXP compatible as surecome website has the drivers in its website. and i purchased it 2 months ago. my friend also had this problem, but he fixed it somehow and he cant remember, and also he now uses different version of windows, so cant help.
so anymore ideas guys ?
