recently i decided to put a password on all my folders to stop anyone viewing my folders as i use the laptop for other work too.. since then , i cant view any folders ive passworded.. maybe its an error or i am being divy and forgot the password just got no idea what to do ..

its saying if ive forgot the password is to use supervisor password .. ive got no idea where to find this ..
do i have to ring acer up ? or is it found somewhere in my info book that came with the comp .. ( must find it if it is )

if i cant get the password to sort this ..then i will have to ask for my images again and start again .. but there are loads to recover ..

i dont even remember a password when i first got the comp .. :(

anyone know what to do ?

thankyou xx

if you never did set up an administrators password the user would be admin and the password just leave it blank and click OK. That should let you in.
But if you did make up passwords and forgot them, you may have to call Acer tech support

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers

You need to be clear as to exactly what you did.

You can't set passwords per folder. Feature does not exist except in third party software.

What is native to the OS is encryption.

Did you encrypt the folders?????

There is no such thing as supervisor [except in Netware]. Don't you mean Administrator?

Very important that you be specific. Exactly what did you do and exactly what are the messages you receive when you try to access a folder/picture?

A one sentence question will result in a one sentence answer.

i titled a folder and encrypt the folder with other folders in it .
i right clicked and encrypted it with a password .
i made a password so only i can view that folder .

i click on pic and it asks for decrytion password

in the same message box there is an option to tick view this once decrypt or not to tick .

then in text under that it says

if you forgot password use superviser password

then under that there is 2 buttons

OK CANCEL

ive checked to see if i can do this wiv any image
its works ..

so i think its the password which is wrong on the folder with folders ... :(

it dont say anything about administrator just superviser password..
