I am going to be going cross country in my RV, but I still have to run my business. I just bought an HP laptop, and I can use my cell phone as a modem. Can someone suggest a program that can I can use to fax documents from my computer?
Thanks

You cannot...without using use a fee based Internet Fax Service or connect to a remote shared fax printer on a Windows 2003 Server or Small Business Server 2000 box.
Speaking of why Fax is included in XP in the first place...Bill Gate didn't realize that this OS would revolutionarize the way we use computers to communicate with the world. Before XP, there was little need for cable, DSL or wireless connection. In other words, XP Fax is originally designed for use only when you use analog modem or phone line.

Robrem, don't know if this will address things in your case but when I travel, I use a fax-to-email service called maxemail that has been great. While I only need it to receive incoming faxes, for a small charge you can send outgoing ones too. When someone faxes you, it actually goes to your email, and shows up as a .pdf attachment. (I forward my phone line to the "fax" number maxemail assigned me, so no one even has to use the different number.) Outgoing faxes show up as regular faxes at the recipient's machine. You can even call your "fax" number to hear if faxes have come in, and from what number. (And you can set it to take voice mail messages too if you want, which come as sound file attachments to email, but can also be listened to by phone instead.) The small-volume package I have costs $14 per year!! Maybe something like this could help you too.
