Stupid resolution Problem

ok so like i decided to get my piece of s--- computer running again so i can use it an MSN computer and well when i open properties from the desktop i dont get the settings tab its really annoying cause i cant do anything is is stuck on the appearence tab which is the only thing there it doesnt even say appearence it is as if it is the only thing on that window like :S

PC:

CPU: P4 2.66 GHz
RAM: 1GB
HDD: 250GB
GPU: Geforce FX 5500

Laptop:

CPU: Turion 64 x2 Tl-50
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 160GB
GPU: Mobility Radeon x1600 128mb dedicated, 384Mb shared 512

well it like really helps when you use punctuation and caps so we like know when one thought begins and the next one like ends so if youd like try to write in a more coherent like fashion and use the proper grammar and stuff that you like should have learned in school it would be like much easier for someone to understand exactly what youre asking and typing obscentities is a good way to get yourself like banned from the forums

I Finally got it to 800 x 600 cause windows finally realized it was in 600 x 480, which is not a default of XP, but i want it at 1024 x 768 so i can actually see less clutter.

Is that better Punctuation :P.

Maybe the monitor does not support 1024x768

lol no no it does go to 1024 x 768 the monitor isnt as dirty it actually goes to 1168 x 8??, cant remember the exact one but its the resolution after 1024.

also the fact the tabs arnt there is weird i cant change screen saver, desktop, appearence (it is stuck on themes not appearence sry) so like yah i have no options its dumb and annoying.

Chundel, Go to the link below and scroll down to line 285 right column and download & run the "Restore All Display Tabs" .reg file fix. Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.

um actually this is for my laptop the resolution is for my dirty desktop... my good desktop still foesnt have a power supply lol, and i did the reg thing and it didnt work at all :S i dont get it i dont feel like reinstalling windows a 3rd time in 1 day :S.
