Not a chance. Any p2p is going to have stuff on it that won't work. You download at your own risk (or peril.)

I for downloaded something and it appeared to download fine then doesn't play, there is a fair chance you have downloaded something nasty. I hope you have a good anti-virus and ad-ware protection.

Just because it says mp3 on the outside, doesn't necessarily mean its mp3 on the inside.

To blame kaza is to completley fail to understand exactly what p2p is.

If your looking for a music downloading program I know two of the best. These put no spyware on your computer, and I have not had not one problem.

www.limewire.com

www.aresgalaxy.org

The best I've ever used.

i dont think you should be posting that on here.
also just because they arent bundled with spyware does not mean your safe.

the amount of people i've had "my computer runs so slow"

then you see limewire on the desktop and no antivirus or firewall logos in the systray you know full well your going to have a fight on your hands.
If your going to download any p2p program read up on securing your pc first. or you will be back here asking for more help lol

It's not the P2P software that's to blame, it's the idiots that share the "nasty" files. Some people do it deliberately, some do it unknowingly. The very 1st thing you should do after downloading a file is scan it for viruses...if it's infected, dump it. Even if it's not infected, there's no guarantee that an MP3 is really an MP3. Some people, for whatever reason, will rename a file. And some people will just leave an infected file in their "shared folder" for some other sucker to download...once again, sometimes it's deliberate, & sometimes it's because of stupidity.

No matter which P2P program you use, be it KaZaA, Limewire, WinMX, etc...it's not the program itself that causes the problem, it's the users.

From experience, I have noticed that there is a lot more "junk" shared on KaZaa than any other P2P out there. It is true that it is NOT the program, but the users who ruin it for everyone else.

I have been using Limewire for a few weeks on my new PC and everything has gone very well. I do use ZoneAlarm AntiVirus and AdAware spyware detector though. Both programs are available from download.com and should be used at all times.

I would suggest getting rid of Kazaa, downloading these two programs and running both to clean up your system. Once you've finished cleaning up, if you insist on P2P get limewire. It works wonders.

Jay hi,
I previously used Limewire (no problems), however since upgrading to SP2 I find I cannot connect to it. Error message states 'modem not connected'. This is clearly not so, but Limewire is unable/or restricted to finding it. Tried switching off the Firewall, still no link. As you are using Limewire successfully, grateful if you could help.
