Stuck on windows screen

Hewlett-packard Pavilion m7570n desktop
August 20, 2009 at 22:48:14
Specs: Windows XP
I am guessing it has something to do with a recent software that i have installed. I was half way passed installing a software which i forgot the name (yea i know i suck) and then my computer froze and so i pressed the restart button and then... (read below)

Computer starts up but up to the point where you only see the windows logo... and it keeps on scrolling

tried rebooting in safe modes... last known good config... and normal and it still the same thing.

i tried formatting reformatting the computer by placing the xp disc in and formatting it that way but then when i select repair or format it says there is no hard drive installed.

I am stuck at this windows logo startup page and i can't go passed it

and yea it's a sata harddrive and i also checked the connections to see if it is plugged in and it is

what i ment to say is when i selected the safe modes it listed out all the things i'm guessing it needs to open for it to start up and then it froze on this one.

multi(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)Windows\Ststem32\Drivers\Mup.sys

"...i tried formatting reformatting the computer by placing the xp disc in and formatting it that way but then when i select repair or format it says there is no hard drive installed..."

... I had a good look @ relevant driver website for Sata driver which you produce @ "F6" key prompt so that it then should "see" the drive ...not much luck there!

... found this click HERE which should "do" the job!

... I'll try click link in "Response Number 3" ... then the link with diskette utility for 32bit Windows (I am guessing that its a 32bit system you have)

... then it'll lead you to another link which I'll post HERE click the download under " Utilities, Tools and Examples" scroll down "click "ACCEPT"

... download the zip file and extract the content which will be one file "f6flpy32.exe"... which once you right click open "should" write to a floppy...but when I tried it did'nt do a thing

... it would help if I had a floppy drive installed although do have an usb floppy drive (not plugged in) the file should of still reacted ...but never mind.

... anyway I have "winrar" installed download site: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

... and just "drag n dropped" the file "f6flpy32.exe" with the option (via winrar) "extract here"... which in turn extracted from the "exe" one file called "F32.IMA" ...which is an image file which I "drag n dropped" onto winimage (version 6.0)
download site: http://www.winimage.com/download.htm

... then selected the content and extracted them

... which you can copy to a floppy drive @ "F6" prompt so the xp cd loads them

...PHEW!... as its a load of hassle I will "pm" you with another link.... bear with me....

... use software to burn the "iso" image ... some HERE

... when you have "burnt" the "iso" image you'll see the files on the cd

... so when you next try and install xp ...@ a stage near the beginning on the bottom line of your screen you should see a "F6" key prompt to offer the Sata driver ... then stick in the cd .....

.

.

...............just some info:
... "drag and drop" files once "winrar" is installed ... "exe" content files can be extracted by selecting the executable with mouse right click hold ... move mouse just a little (drag) and release "unclick" (drop) ... an option appears "extract here" (+more optioins)
