Stuck on converting drive D: to NTFS...

Specs: Windows XP
Had the BSOD. Re-installed the system software. Seemed to boot just fine until screen came up with the following:

Type of the file system is FAT32.

It when on to perform a disk ck which is ok. Then went on to:

Converting drive D: to NTFS...
Convert will take some time to process the files on the volume. When this phase of conversion is complete, the computer will restart. Determining disk space required for file system conversion...
Total disk space: 15004704KB
Free space on volume: 13423624KB
Space required for conversion: 107951KB

It appears you have a 1.5TB HDD formated as FAT32? Microsoft's FAT32 formating utility only supports up to 32GB, so either your HDD was formatted using a 3rd party utility or it's an extenal HDD or it was taken from an external enclosure & used as an internal HDD. Me thinks your explanation is incomplete.
