Okay here goes, today I tried to install a new hard drive by setting it as the primary slave, got it in there and rebooted. Bios detected the drive. But heres where the problems start, I got into Windows XP and it took about 5 miniutes for the network icon to appear on the taskbar and to my suprise it says network discconected. And it took another 5 miniutes for XP to detect my Hard Drive. This didnt seem right so I took the new hard drive out and booted into Windows thinking everything would be Ok, but yet again it took 5 miniutes for Windows to detect my network card and im still disconnected so I uninstalled the card and rebooted. On startup it said found new hardware on the taskbar but I couldnt install the card. So I shutdown and reseat the network card and reboot, but now I am stuck at the bios screen. All the screen says is Main Processor:1.6GHZ Intel P4. Please someone help me!!!!

Check all the items and wires in the case to make sure that something didn't get loosened when you where installing the new drive.

Okay something ust have come loose because I reconnected all the wires and now bios screen states processor information and Hard Drive information. But now it say CPU is unworkable or has been changed, and ive noticed the information on the bios screen is displayed very slowly

That's a very scary problem. Double check to make absolutely sur everything is in its place. Also, if you have your new HDD on Primary Slave, make sure the other HDD is set to be recognized as Primary Master. Also try other methods of getting into the BIOS to check that your processor is in alright. If you have to, disconnect and reconnect some cables that you moved or bumbed into. The network problem doesn't make any sense, but sounds like it should work itself out when everything else does.

Pull the battery out of the motherboard for a few minutes.
After the unit starts, enter the BIOS and set everything to either Auto Detect will Plug and Play OS turned on, or Best Performance.
If the problem continues, replace the battery.

I had a weird problem with a compaq PC hanging on the compaq logo. Found out it was the modem was faulty, maybe disconnect and remove all cards (modem, ethernet,etc..except for keyboard and mouse, see if that will get you going.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks
