Have a situation with a pc with xp-pro.. Machine never boots fully.. gets to the xp window then shuts down... It has been re-formatted several times, but still has the problem.. Could this be a power supply issue? Thanks

Unknown. I assume it did work at one time. Is the computer and devices on the XP HCL? Did you install any unsigned drivers? You might have to remove some of the adapter cards and try a reinstall or look at bios to disable devices.

I would take out all devices and try to boot up with the monitor only.....
See if it goes, if not it could be a power supply...

Not much info here - reformatted and completely reinstalled clean XP os every time and had the same problem? SOunds like hardware - cards or a stick of crappy ram maybe - piece it out one thing at a time.
Can we boot with floppy? or in safe mode?
Scan disk did not find any bad clusters did it? What about booting with a knoppix disk?
