I have a 3GB!! folder on my desktop that is an older version of Windows Vista. I got the new Beta version and it put the old one in a folder called Windows.old This folder is annoying because it has annoying security irghts on it and nothing can delete it. I've tried Safe mode, Killbox (delete on reboot), I've even loaded up BartPE and it couldn't delete it. Is there a way I can just totally bypass the file permissions. I need a sure-fire way to terminate that stupid folder without actually reformatting the computer. I have a 40gb hard drive and 3 gigs is a lot of wasted space. Windows Vista is a gigantic operating system by the way >:( .
Edit: It seems Spybot File Shredder will delete the undeletable files but how can I delete the entire 3 GB folder and everything in it?

maybe Move On Boot will work for you....it's worth a try
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

thank you but I found that if I drag the folder into the Spybot shredder and wait, it will load everthing into it after being unresponsive for a while. It will also heat up the CPU considerably. I went from idle at 43C to load at 51C within about 3 minutes from dropping the folder onto Spybot Shredder. It is working though. Spybot is the best file remover!!! I didn't even have to reboot.

nevermind, I went back into Windows Vista and they deleted easily. I guess it keeps the user permissions even after you switch OS's
