The kids were banging on the computer keyboard at my MIL's and now her screen is all distorted! The wallpaper, icons, taskbar and everything are stretched and they run off the sides of the moniter screen. She can barely see the edge of her Start button on the left. Does anyone know how to fix this? She's running Windows XP. We tried restoring settings and everything but it hasn't made a difference. I don't even know what the kids pressed on the keyboard to make it do this so I have no idea how to get it back. Any help would be greatly appreciated! TIA!

First thing i would try is resetting your monitor settings. You can do this right on the monitor.

Next i would look at what the screen resolution is set at. To do this in xp. Right click on an empty space on the desktop and go to properties. Then when the box pops up go to settings. There you can change the resolution.

My guess is it's an issue with the monitor settings.
