Apologies if this is the incorrect area for this question.

I've noticed that as I copy data/install programs on my Laptop, the weight of the Laptop increases. I have a bad back and am medically limited on the amount of weight I can carry so I need to be very carefull not to inflict injury upon myself.

I have also noticed my XBox feels heavier as well (the more games I save or purchase from arcade). I generally don't travel with my XBox so that is not an issue for me, but note the I am having the same results.

My ask, what is the weight/file ratio? So for example, how many GB's = How many gram. (g) .
I dread the day I need a dolly to commute to work with my Laptop.

Thanks in advance!

Subhash Chandra.

Then it's good that you don't have Vista installed on your laptop-the weight would be unbearable, lol. Seriously, the number of programs installed has nothing to do with your laptop's weight(at least not in any real measurable sense).

Impossible. When you install a programme on a hard disk all you are doing is rearranging a few grains off alluminium oxide. You are niether taking anything away or putting anything in.

It sounds like its infested with aliens, which feed off new programs and can get quite heavy as they breed.

If you have children in the house these should be eliminated first. Next, search Google for an appropriate scan (AntiAlien 2009 might fix it).

Turn the laptop over and ensure all covers are closed tight to ensure they don't escape, which might be why your XBox is similarly affected. If some have got out they will be immediately recognisable because they are green and glow in the dark.

A hydrogen baloon tied to each corner might serve as a work-around to the weight problems.

Sorry I can't help more.

EDIT. It is unlikely to be the laptop variant of Swine Flu.

some other bloke...

seriously, if you install the full version of MS Works, your laptop will gain 5 lbs. To counteract that, just install Jenny Craig software and you'll be able to keep the weight down...APRIL FOOLS!!!!
