When I first start up my computer, everything works fine...but after a little while IE stops working. The only pages it can find are the ones that I have previously visited. Also, AIM continues to work but once I sign off and try to sign back on "the aim service cannot be reached". All the while, it says my internet connection is operational. Whats goin on???

The connect dailog doesnt pop up...wasnt the problem. I reinstalled adaware because it was having problems retreiving the most current update, then ran it and the problem seems to have went away. I'll be back if it happens again...thanks to all those that helped.

when it happens, go to start>run type 'cmd' when the propmpt comes up type in 'ipconfig /release' then press enter then type in 'ipconfig/renew' and see if it renews your ip address, you might want to change your network card on your machine and see what happens...

Ok, it happened again (this time it took 2 days, but it still happened). So i released and renewed my ip address and it fixed it. How can i fix this permanantly so i dont have to keep renewing it? Is it a problem with my internet service or my computer?
