Hey people, I got this problem here:
Whenever I boot up my computer, it stalls at the screen that says Welcome, it has this purple background and stuff. The only way I could forego it is by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL, at which point it continues on to the desktop and I could use it normally. It started doing this last night. I also noticed that before this I was getting a prompt that my password would expire in 13 days and whether or not I would like to change my password. I can't really remember setting up a password when I was installing XP at all. Maybe it was the password for the user account, but I only have one account on the computer and I never have to enter a password to start using the computer. Does anyone know what password they are referring to and if so, how could I disable it?
So my two questions (just to summarize) are how do I eliminate the computer stopping at the welcome screen on boot up AND what password are they referring to?
Thank you,
WORRD

I have the same problem. A friend and I are gonna continue to try to find a solution but if someone would know help would be great. ;)

Hi,
The password for user accounts can be changed by booting the system to safe mode and logging in as administrator. For this follow the following steps:
-When the system starts start tapping F8.Choose the option Safe Mode.
-Logon as Administrator.
-In Control Panel choose User Accounts.
After Changing the password,do MSCONFIG:
-Click Start
-Click Run
-Type MSCONFIG
-Go to Startup
-Click on Disable All,click Close,Click Restart.
That should fix your issue.
