Hi, I just ran that online virus scan, well everything came back fine, but after that I rebooted my pc just because. Well I never get to my desktop, I get this blue screen that reads.
STOP:c0000218 {registry file failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\systemroot\sytem32\config\software
or its log alternate
It is corrupt,absent, or not writable.
Then it dumps my physical memory. What just happened here my pc has been running great with xp not flawless but I am real happy with it.
pc specs:1500xp+,2 40gb hd raid 0,512mb of ddr pc2100, and tnt2 nvidia video card, with Iwill ddr 333r mother board. Please I am beggin for help. Thanks Leonard

Ok I found that fix, but when I go to reboot to the recovery console to get my command prompt. It says that setup did not find any hard disk installed. Is this because I have a raid configuration, and I must note my raid ended up on the secondary raid controller (although I had plugged the ide cables in on raid one), I think my mother board was mislabled. If I was running a fat32 I could use another boot disk but unfortunatly it is all ntfs. What can I do please help, and thanks for that last little tid bit.

ouch! thats why i use fat32 i stay away from ntsf with a gaming machine. once that bab bot NTSF gets corrouped it time to start all over been there done that and then i stay away from it and stuck to fat32. if you cant reformat from the install disk, pull the harddrive out of the case put the jumper on slave and find a friend or another machine with xp put it as a slave in that computer, and then at my computer find it, and change it back to fat32 with a format, this is a last resort of course i screw up one harddrive like that and was my only exscape. : (
