barbara, if they're coming up offline, that indicates that a nasty has managed to infect your machine. Scan. There are a number of free online scans to choose from if you need them in order to clean your machine. Service Pack 2 which you apparently have not done, has an excellent built in popup stopper...have you done the Windows Updates regularly? But you also have spyware and there is an excellent Microsoft beta Spyware eliminator and preventor at www.microsoft.com
