I recently installed Adobe Reader 8 on several user's systems. Now, the users receive a warning message when opening .pdf files from the web.
It is the standard XP message that ask about opening or saving a file. The message will stop the next time if they uncheck the box Always ask. However, the users do not like this.
Is there a way to prevent this warning from showing at all?
Thank you for any assistance.

Change Adobe to not open pdfs in Webpages is one way, but that would be more work for you.
I would say just let the users deal with the inconvenience. One little "uncheck" and clicking OK won't kill them.

I was preparing a lengthy response (now deleted), but, quite simply, yeah, I agree with JenniferSUMN, it's a ONE click solution (from each user) vs several clicks (from you) to change the behaviour of XP or Adobe, which is bound to have other ramifications, which in turn may well require a whole number of clicks (from each user) to resolve later on -- and they will hold YOU responsible for it!
So, yes, I agree with JenniferSUMN, they should suck it up (a single click!! how inconvenient!!)... YOUR problem is one of tact -- better you than me, I will admit.
Here is a rock <<<-- YOU -->>> HARD place...

Thank you for the posts.
It cracks me up that they are concerned about this one message but are not worried about going to Vista.

justcuz, you're too funny. :)
Lorrec, you think you're having a problem now, wait until you move on to Vista! LOL
