hi all,
does anyone know how to disable/stop the McAfee antivirus ?? its constantly scanning my pc and it slows down the pc to the point where my pc is not usable.

i have been to the console for the virus scan but i think this scan has been set up by the admin staff to run as SYSTEM so i cant kill it or disable it.

Is there anything else that i can do ?? so far sweet talking the administrator to disable it hasnt worked.

thanks in advance.

Simply contact the administrator and talk to him about your problem.
The virus scanning process should normally be configured to scan files on access.
A complete harddisk virus scan should be configured to run during lunchtime.

Simply stopping antivirus isn't really an option, because it's only a matter of time, that your pc will get infected. And you'll get lucky if only your pc will get infected !!!
And this is the time, were you really can't work anymore.

So simply ask the admin for that.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!

have already tried talking to the admin. they wont switch it off or change it so it runs after hours and i cant do my work since the pc slows down due to the virus scanner. so round and round we go in a loop .....

Yes ok, that's a problem.
But all in all you can say, no virus protection, no pc to work on.
So the only way is, to change the settings as described above.
Do all employees in your company have this problem?
You alone can't convince the admins to make the changes, but a group of employees can, I think.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
