I have Xp home edition. I have set up my account as administrator and also 2 others, as limited users , one of them the Guest account.
How do I prevent the Guest account from accessing all my hard drive files and just be able to surf the net?
Also the other limited user to be just able to access some of my files only. Please make it simple thanks

simple is disable the guest account.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

I think the poster means that a user is limited that he is calling it guest. There is a guest account.
There is no simple way that I know of in home. You can start with a search for security policies xp home.
See pcworld.com for a blurb on freshui.

no simple way or any way that I know of in Home. It can only do simple file sharing. Normally you would uncheck that and do individual assignments in pro solving the issue.

Even if you're able to restrict the guest (with third party utility like Tweaki for Power Users) to Internet surf only, he can still access the whole computer from the browser. Just type c:\ in IE address bar and see the entire c: drive open.

Disabled the Guest account now But still need to restrict the other limited account somehow. Not from just C Drive only though I have an extra hard drive which is partitioned into 3. Need some way to restrict access to most of this drive please.
