Did you install the software that came with the router? If not, why would you have a firewall? There is no built in firewall in a Linksys Router.
Have you gone into your routers settings to look?

Can you share files using any other program (i.e. Yahoo IM)?

got this of aol
but they didn't tell me which port should open up on your router(Aol Svcks)
Q: I am not able to transfer files with one or more other users.
A: This may be due to the use of a firewall on your network. A firewall is a security device on your network to prevent potentially harmful data from coming in, and to prevent certain other data from going out. Depending on how a firewall is configured, it may prevent AIM file transfer from working. There is nothing AIM can do to get around this, as it is just the feature of the firewall working as it should. However, you may be able to get around the problem by entering a certain port number in AIM's File Transfer preferences. You will need to ask your network administrator if there is such a port that will allow AIM file transfer to work (there may not be).
Also, make sure that you both have the latest version of AIM

found this on microsoft site
use port port forwarding
if you don't know how, read the manual that came with your router or get it at there web site. Good Luck

What do I do if I have a firewall?

No matter what kind of firewall you have, you will need to configure it to allow the computers within it to open outgoing TCP sockets to allow your network users to use MSN Messenger Service. Computers on the internal local area network will need access to the Domain Name System (DNS) servers to resolve the names of external hosts such as microsoft.hotmail.com. As network administrator, you need to do the following:

• To enable the use of MSN Messenger Service: Open outgoing TCP Port 1863, and configure it so that sockets on this port are open for extended periods of time.

• To enable the use of AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) integration with MSN Messenger Service (Windows only): Open outgoing TCP Port 5190, and configure it so that sockets on this port are open for extended periods of time.
