Subject: Stereo Out from PC How ?

I have a TV capture card that i watch/record tv onto my puta.
I use a VGA cable from the card to my TV VGA in to gain the Video.
I use a small splitter/adapter to run the AudioL/R cables to and then plug this splitter/adapter into the Speaker plug on the back on my puta.

I changed the way i play back the recorded programs on my TV to allow the sound to play back through my AMP instead of the TV speakers, but noticed ONLY the LEFT Speaker connected to the AMP plays sound.
I feel it is obviously due to the MONO input/output of my puta.

Is there a Stereo IN/OUT PCI(No AGP or PCIe) card available, or how can i have the sound come out to both Left and Right?

Not necessarily so. All PCI sounds cards as far as I am aware have had stereo i/o at least since around 1991. It would be impossible to get a mono sound card that was not close on twenty years old and then it would only be an 8 bit ISA card.

You need a stereo jack plug that plugs into the sound card which is then split between left and right which usually go to pair of RCA connectors on the amp, one red and one white.

If this is the arrangement you already have I would start looking for broken wires somewhere along the line not forgetting the wires to the speakers themselves.

BTW. Will never get an AGP sound card. AGP is video only. Computers with PCIe connectors will almost certainly have multi-channel sound built into the motherboard.

Stuart,
thanx for the reply.
Looking at the back of the PCI card i ONLY have the following:
1 x VGA Output - VGA in on TV
1 x S-Video - Not Used
1 x Remote Sender - To enable remote control
and
1 x Video Out - Not Used.
There are NO Audio Outputs on the card at all ?

The PC has 3 Jacks:
all the same size
Audio Line in
Audio Line Out
Mic input

I have the Jack splitter similar to this one:
http://www.hdaccessory.com/catalog/...

It gives me 2 RCA Audio L/R inputs from the smaller jack on the puta.

Is that correct?
Do you think it should output Stereo as it is?
The MO is a Shuttle MB48N.

Thats because AGP is video only, not audio.

The adaptor look fine. There are three connectors on the plug, left, right and common. You plug it into the Audio Line Out.

It appears you have both built-in audio and video.

Integrated Audio Function:
6 Channel AC'97 Audio-Controller with CODEC onboard

You need to check the manual for the motherboard and make sure you have the audio configured correctly for two channel stereo and not six channel surround sound. Then check for broken wires.

The card i have is a PCI card(old one).
I solved the problem though.
I found the splitter that plugs into the jack on the back of the puta was a little loose.
I wriggled it and now sound is coming out of both Left and Right.

You were correct in the first instance in pointing me to the wiring, as i discovered.
Cheers for the help.

I've got one machine that might fit. After a power surge, it's well and truly screwed!!
