Hi, I currently have a network with two computers in it. The main computer has Win XP Pro and the other computer (client) has win98se. My network is running fine and I am currently sharing the internet between the two computers. I would like to have my main computer and my client computer to have access to the same IP address.
LET ME EXPLANE A BIT MORE CLEARLY.My main computer has got a network connection of 192.168.0.1 and my internet connection is at 213.106.116.**. The client computer has a network connection of 192.168.0.2. Is possible to let the client computer to have access to the 213.106.116.** IP address.
I have heard that you might be able to set up forwarding. Is this true?
My main purpose of this is so that I can uses my client computer as a web server, but to go through the 213.106.116.** IP address.
Thank you
Mike

Hi again, sorry for the bad spelling on the subject! It should of been "Static IP Address on two machines"

If you are using the mai computer to share the internet connection, then only that computer will have the external IP address provided by your ISP (the 213.106.116.**). What you are wanting to do id to forward the port used for web traffic (Port 80) to your other machine. Not sure how to do this (or if its even possible) with internet connection sharing.
If you have a broadband connection, then I suggest you get a router which will make the whole setup much simpler. If you are on dial-up, then your IP address would be different every time you log in and would make setting up a web server even more problematic - but not impossible.
In any case, most ISPs have rules against running a server on a standard account. Make sure you are authorized to do so first.
