Startup/Shutdown Sounds

THe sound scheme is selected but no sounds work. XP used to make a sound when opening up the start menu and shuting down/turning on the computer etc... The sounds won't work anymore. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Have you tried clicking on the speaker by the time at the bottom of the screen, you might have to UN select "MUTE"

Rafer, I'm having the same problem. I changed my startup, exit & trash sounds and now NONE are working. When I check them out, they play just fine. That's the only time they play.
