hello everyone, im heading off to collage here in a few days and i have to keep my computer at home for my parents to use :(. Anyways since they are not very computer literate, i want to have the pc open firefox on startup(not very hard to do) and then i want it to go to full screen like it would by using F11. my question is.. how to get it to go to full screen like when you push F11. the reason i want to do this is because i dont want them to see the task bar at the bottom, im sure they would screw something up. Im going to create a web page and set it to their homepage so they have links to e-mail and stuff(im sure they dont know how to use the links function!)if you think im not giving my parents enough credit.... my ma didnt know how to turn it on then, every time she clicked a link she would say, "OMG what happened?!!?"

i think it would just be easier this way.

One thing about that is if they hit the Windows
Logo key, then the Taskbar will come up.

Then again you can try line 226 at the following ---
This page has alot of XP fixes

Some require the download of a VBS file.
So, read at the top of that page--
"How to use a VBS file"

Maybe they should send you off to school with an ankle bracelet & curfew guard as well .... LOL

If they are smart enough to conceive & raise a fine gentleman like yourself & see to it that you have a path to college, I'm sure they are tough enough for the challenges of using the internet.

You definitely don't need to deploy the F11 view because that is going to complicate & not simplify browsing for them. FYI, you can set the task bar to autohide, if you like.

Although, I'd rather you set the system up for them in a way that's not too different from the computer they'll come across in a public facility. But then again, maybe you are afraid if know too much about using the computers or the internet -- the gig might be up for you prematurely ;-)

LOL! Give your parents some credit here! I'm sorry, but I wouldn't set up any computer for a newbie or novice with FireFox. Let them get used to I.E. since Windows pretty much revolves around it. Let them learn. To me that's sorta like letting a 16 year old go out and drive w/o any lessons. Plenty of help with I.E.
