Ok, this is the first time I'm booting up my new comp. For some reason after it boots into BIOS it goes to the ASUS 333 logo on the screen and promptly freezes. In BIOS it gave me the option of either 1275 mhz or 1675 mhz clock speed on my CPU...I chose the lower one just to be safe the first time around. Nothing happens when I insert the Maxtor disk into (A:) and then power on. I've checked the IDE cables and everything's hooked up right. Any ideas?

I haven't done any configuring of sorts.
Here's the specs
40gb hard drive 56x cdrom drive floppy drive the mobo is the asus kv7333 athlon xp 2000 256 mb ddr (pc 2700) 64 mb radeon 7000 AGP
from what I've looked at, it may be either the rom drive or the floppy...maybe the IDE cables since neither drives are responding to the maxtor software or xp pro. hmm...
