i am having a problem with a slow startup my pc takes long to detected ide 1 i think it takes long to detect something any suggestions?

I had a problem like this when I attached another drive to my current system. When it would get to the boot screen with the progress bar it would pause for like 2 min, then resume. I defragged both drives and that fixed it.

Download the Boot vis tool from MS. it's free.

Well same problem over here. With an 80 GB hhd... Booting keeps very slow. But i only formatted the first 40 gb... the other was a quick format. And bootvis.... Well i tought it worked. The boot after the inspection is fast but the boot after storing is the same slow again...
