Comment:

After Windows Xp Professional SP2 Splash Screen, the system restarts automatically. It does not reach to desktop. It works fine in safe mode.

How can I fix the problem ?

What could be the reason ?

Try a lower screen resolution, 800X600 should be Ok.

Vishnu, you could tap F8 on bootup and get into safe mode.
Once in safe mode uncheck automatically restart. Then the next time your PC tries to restart it will blue screen and give you an error.
Post the EXACT error and we can probably help you.

After Windows xp logo, the system restarts automatically, even it does not show logon screen. In infinitive loop, it continues to restart.

Make sure after every suggestion, you acknowledge with a reply.

Try this.

1. Start your computer in Safe Mode
2. Right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then click Device Manager in the left pane of the Computer Management window.
3. In the right pane of the Computer Management window, expand Display Adapters, right-click your ATI display adapter, and then click Disable.
4. Restart your computer as you would normally.

Hi XpUser4Real, like you, I'm here to try & help & I don't let the little things bother me, besides I still remember when I first started, how confusing it all was.

you can say that again! Sometimes I try walking people through problems on the phone and if they aren't focussed it gets a bit tough too. We all started somewhere.

It is nice if they acknowledge which solution the poster tried on cnet....sure helps others with that same problems at times, that's what I meant in response 7.

We appear to be on a different time zone & I was going to suggest this.

If you don't have an ATI display adapter, you may get results here.
