When I try to open phone and modem options in control panel. I can't i get this msg Phone and modem panel can not open you may have a prblem with your telephoney service

Go to Start / run / type in services.msc (without the quotes) and hit ENTER. This will open Windows XP Services. Scroll down the list of services for Telephony.
