Is there any way to effectively 'start over' with windows XP Pro without having to re-install after formatting the HD? I no longer use my desktop much and my fiances is dying, so I wanted to clear up my old pc so he can start using it, but I can't find the installation disk...otherwise I would REALLY start over. Thank you

pigglet, if you've formatted, you've erased everything on the disk and the only way is to reinstall since it's blank. If not formatted, all the info is still there and if settings are the only concern, you can choose to go back to factory settings by using restore to a factory only date. Seems like there's somewhere else you can select factory settings, but unfortunately, can't recall. Anyone? HTH. Ed in Texas.
