On my other computer, I get no start taskbar when I turn on my computer.I do have restore, but I can't get it to work.I can't get on the internet. When I start up, it takes a long time to get up, maybe as much as 3 min. Could this be a worm or something else. I'm no wizard with computers so any help you can give will be appreciated. I'm close to 80yrs. old so it would be hard to understand high tech answers. Thanks

Taskbar - I assume you mean the bar along the bottom of the screen. Is it set to autohide, ie its not there by default but when you move the mouse over it it appears? Or has it been resized so small it cannot be seen? see if right clicking near the bottom of the screen brings up the options of it. you wil know if it has, becaue one of the options will be "Lock the taskbar". If this is the case, simply untick the box then drag the top of the bar upwards to the size you want. Startup - do you mean 3 minutes from when you turn the pc to when it is ready to be used, or just after logging in? if it is the foormer, this is normal. the time it takes will depend on the speed of the computer. how old is it? this could also be a worm, try running an antivirus program on it (AVG is free and works well), and also use AdAware (program which removes spyware). post back with results
