Help! Total Forum Noob but .... aaaahhh! Recently installed Baldurs Gate 2 and Throne of Bhaal exp. Most of my many shortcuts have now vanished from Start menu - All programs - All Games !! Really irritating !! Used CCleaner and it wants to delete these expired shortcuts! How can I re-connect them and restore my menu? Thanks anyone ?

Check at these two locations ---- The Start Menu a User sees comes from two folders: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs and C:\Documents and Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs Where username denotes your User Account configured on the computer.

mmmm8888, Click Start>Run then copy & paste or type in: regsvr32 /i shell32.dll Click OK. Restart your computer. Note that the spacing is important. Tufenuf

Thanks for speedy responses. When i ran CCleaner a second time old shortcuts gone - must have pressed OK TO FIX - but thought I hadn't ? D'oh! Shortcuts not there when i ran CCleaner again. I think i was too hasty clicking to install shortcuts in startmenu If in doubt - don't do it. I have managed to copy over all my AllUsers AllGames shortcuts with BG2 by mistake (but not the ones in User AllGames tho) :( BAH!
