Comment:

i just installed xp pro on my new comp and when i go to shut off the computer, standby is not an option. it's garyed out. in the power management settings, it's also not an option. I went into my bios but there's nothing ion the power managment section there either to fix (at least none that I know of)

please tell me how to fix this!!!! is it a video driver problem (seems unlikely) becasue I haven't uet installed the driver for my vid card.

for the record, my MB is a Gigabyte P4 Titan socket 478

My motherboard would have had that problem what I had to do was update the BIOS prior to loading.

Sounds more like a hardware compatibility problem.
