Standby mode?

My computer is going into 'standby' mode when I try to switch the system off. How do I stop this happening? Thanks

How are you turning the system off? If you're just pressing the power button then that's why. You need to turn off from the 'start' button, bottom left (usually) of the screen.

Try Start, then RUN, then type
powercfg
