Hi,
I have disvled login screen, and unchecked the box asking for password after standby.
However, when I go into standby, it prompts me for the log in screen and password. When entered, it does not go into standby.
Have you been making changes to the policies on your XP? Remember that if you deny something from happening, but you allow trying to make that something happen, then the 'denying' always takes dominance over the 'allowing'.
In other words, if you denied the computer to go into standby mode, then it may still let you try despite the fact that the mode is disabled.
Messing around with the policies (especially the security policies) is not needed and certainly not recommended. ___________________________________________ ☺ [Belgium, GMT+1]_________________________svg
