I have been working on a Win XP Pro system that when you do a cold boot it will display a blue screen with an error in "sr.sys". When you reboot, it will ask you if you want to boot normal or last know good. If you boot normal the error does not come back and the system boots fine. Last Known Good gives the same results. BUT when you do a complete shutdown and reboot the error message comes back.
I have tried doing a repair and it has not fixed the problem. Windows describes it as a "System Restore Filesystem Filter Driver". I have never encountered this problem before. Does anyone have any ideas on what I could do to correct this?
Any thing you can think of would be appreciated!

Just a thought; I think sr.sys has to do with the System Restore option in XP. Try disabling System Restore:
To enable or disable System Restore, perform the following steps:
Start the System Control Panel applet. Select the System Restore tab. Clear the "Turn off System Restore on all drives" check box to enable System Restore, or select this check box to disable System Restore. Click OK.
Now do a cold boot. If the problem is cured, then re-enable System Restore and try another cold boot. *I believe that by disabling System Restore, erases the previous restore points. My thinking is you may have a corrupt restore point that is getting in the way.
LL

turn off restore then turn it on again also get rid of real one player if you have it it corrupts system restore even if restore is off you have to cycle it to get it working again check out your error log on event viewer for clues to the cause of your prob . good luck
