Having problem installing an evaluation copy of SQL Server 2000. It will start and allow me to make selections to start the installation but after that nothing. Once I select "Install Database Server", it stops but when I try to restart it tells me that I already have an instance of "install" running. Now here's the wierd part. When I go to power down or restart it starts the installation but of course by then it's too late. Any suggestions?

That's the problem. I can't get to it because it doesn't show up anywhere but behind the scene. It pops up when I get ready to powerdown. The only other place I can find any reference to the program is in the process portion of the task manager. It's utilizing 0% of CPU and a little bit of memory. When I first tried to get it to load I got the 16 bit error so I did the repair of config.nt and autoexec.nt. Anyway, now it will let me get through the first two screens as stated earlier but that's it, it doesn't attempt to load until I go to power down.
