Specs: Windows XP
I am a total novice on computers. I have Kapersky protection but I still ended up with mywebsearch coming up as a homepage and I went to programs and removed it but it still comes up. My computer is really, really slow. I called Kapersky but after a 20 minute wait they came online and when I had to leave for an appointment before they finished they emailed my what to do. I did the deep scan but when I open my computer it opens to a mywebsearch right in the middle of the page. How do I get rid of it and get a new homepage. Remember I kindergartner knows more that I do about computers so I have to have step by step and very primary instructions. Like I don't even know which catagory the problem is so I put general Thanks

Did you just try and reset the home page in your I.E. settings to see what would happen?

Tools -> Internet Options -> and type Google.com in the home page address box.

Note, I am assuming you are using Internet Explorer because you did not specify which browser you are using.

P.S. You should post this in the Virus form.

Thanks for your quick reply. I am actually in Firefox. It did not offer Internet Options but I clicked on Options and it opened a box. I clicked on "restore homepage" and then opened a new tab, clicked on home page and it went to Firefox google instead of Mywebsearch The option box also had a "privacy" tab. I went there and it had a "show cookies" tab. I opened it and there I found Mywebsearch with subfiles. I clicked to remove it. Is that adequite? If I remove all cookies is there any danger of removing something that is necessary?

Yes, I have a feeling the Kasperki removed the Spyware but did not rest your home page because it did not know what to reset it to.
