Hey All! My computer became infected with two pieces of spyware. PIB.EXE and TSIB.exe(I think) as well as wtools.exe wtoola.exe Something like that. They were sets, because if in task manager I stop one, the other would restart the process making it impossible to get rid of it. In the end I had to go to safe mode. But in removing those files(and only those files) it seems to have killed my DHCP Client. I can no longer get an IP address off my network, all the other machines can get an address and if I set the addrses manually it will communicate with the internet. Has anyone seen this before? Spyware that kills your computer when you remove it? (It was definitly only the spyware I removeD) David

Yes, they are out there. Many are variations of the Cool Web Search hijacker. Another baddie is a LOP scumware that embeds itself in the LOP and if you delete it you break your internet connection. AT this point it probably is easier to just do a repair installation of XP.
