No you dont have to get Spy Wiper

Can you type into the address bar in Internet Explorer?

If so go to http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

and download Ad-ware, run the updates option and then scan...delete all it finds.

Do what Alan says and download Spybot as well. Make sure you've done a complete AV scan. Turn off Windows Messenger (Control panel, administrative tools, services, scroll down to Messenger, go to properties, set open to disable). Get the Google toolbar which stops popups.

Spybot

The warning "It may harm your computer blah blah blah" is default for anything you download.....don't worry about it on this occasion...

When you get HJT [Highjack This] there is an option to copy the log to a notepad file....it will store it in the HJT folder by default..just cut and paste it into a new thread [post] over at the Security and Virus section of the forums...the link is in the left of this page...
