Umm yea before I had spybot it worked fine and I had like a list of 12k different files to search for. But I just recently downloaded it and went to update but couldnt find any. And its only looking for about 5k different spyware items. And I dont understand why it cant find an update

Same with me - just over 5k listed with no update - also, Adaware found 3 trackers which SpyBot missed!

Maybe you have the newest version...although it normally will tell you that. So I would think that there may have been a problem with the download. uninstall it and remove any saved folders in windows and redownload from a different site. See if that doesn't fix the problem.

AS to the part where adaware found three trackers that spybot didn't....maybe because of 'same as above'. It could be that adaware has updated their files a little bit faster than spybot or maybe that someone is calling certain cookies spyware. For what ever reason, you should never depend on any one spyware removal protection. 1 is better than none but each software company stipulates it's own rules as to what constitutes spyware until an overall general consensous between companies agree to any one particular cookie being termed "spyware". Just besure that they are all compatable with each other.
Me..I use Spybot with spywareblaster and Mcafee virus and firewall behind a router. Then i use hijack this in conjunction with winpatrol. All free ware except mcafee. I have 4 computers with 2 on 24/7 and have NEVER been infected by anything that wasn't suppose to be there.Self-reverence
