Download Ad-Aware! It's the best one to find and remove. Especially for the Gain spy.

And it's FREE so get it from here:

hi dave have had the same problem myself over the past few days, i was advised to download ad-aware at www.lavasoft.de and i installed and ran it. it however didnt didnt help me fix my problem with a message every time i booted up, but i got another piece of advice to search for the problem on my c-drive and uninstall the program, just in case you have the same problem, the file is called delfin, and it plants itself on your c-drive, but there was an uninstall with it as i say and thats how i got rid of my spyware.
best of luck friend

I don't feel like having the ad-aware argument right now, so just let me say if you want to use ad-aware then buy the new version (when it's available) or wait for the new free version (like a month from now) because the old version is not going to help you. The last free version is approaching four months with no update. In the mean time go to www.spywareinfo.com for all the spyware info you could want. They have links to loads of excellent spyware products there as well.

I have AdAware Plus and am feverishly waiting on the version 6 ... it's a brilliant program but not at the moment ..

If you want great alternative programs go for PestPatrol (of which I have retail version) and SpyBot Search and Distroy...
I run all three on my machine and it catches EVERYTHING I need to have caught...Love it ..and them some..

Hope this helps .. JIM

Has anyone here ever dealt with Lop.com and their spy ware . How do you get rid of it as their uninstaller does not seem to work. Ad aware, pest patrol, and The cleaner failed to remove them. Waht works with this nasty little program.

AdAware is soooooo outdated now. Use Spybot Search & Destroy instead. Get it here:

http://patrick.kolla.de/

After downloading, use the online button to search for and download updates. Then close Spybot, then open and run it. I guarantee it will find things that AdAware missed.

TJ, you should have started a new thread instead of adding to this one. Also both questions should have been posted in the spyware and virus forum (next time- OK)

Spybot will remove lop IF you get all the updates.

For more info on lop, go to spywareinfo.com this article: http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/lop/

And this page:

http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/lop.html

It has insturctions for manually removing lop also.

Dave,

I think you have posted with spyware problems before. It would help you to do some reading at Spywareinfo.com about protecting yourself. Also get a program called SpywareBlaster; it will prevent unwanted downloads of junk like gator, which is where GAIN comes from.

http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/lop.html

Get your browser settings more secure also. Use at least medium security. And don't frequent crack, warez or porn sites where there is cesspools of malware junk. And be careful of what you download from the internet, because some "free" downloads come with other payloads, like gator.
