spoolsv.exe memory leak?

Dell Dimension 4550, Win XP Home SP2 with latest updates, virus scan, malware scan. Some time around attaching a Konica-Minolta PagePro 1350W laser printer and upgrading to SP2, spoolsv.exe suddenly started eating about 80MB per day of virtual memory. Killing the process doesn't always work, and sometimes leaves the system unstable, so usually I reboot daily. I've looked at earlier threads on spoolsv but didn't find anything useful -- there are no print jobs queued up, and virus and malware scans are clean. It's using no more than 2% of the CPU, unlike users reporting 99-100% CPU usage. I've downloaded the latest K-M driver, but no change. Some postings suggested going to the Longhorn version (now Vista?) of spoolsv.exe -- if that would do it, how do I obtain it? I searched the MS Web site and didn't see anything useful. Any suggestions? Thanks!
