I would like to know the specifications for the IBM Thinkpad T40, I have checked sites which have said varied things, please reply.
If it ain't a US model, go to http://www.lenovo.com , choose your country at the top , then Downloads.... under Support, on that resulting page the Manuals.... link is obvious, look at left for Product Information.

Just stating that it is a T40 is no help. You need to reference the model number from the bottom sticker, go to the first page Tubesandwires listed, enter the model number in the Quick Path link and click Go. You will get a listing of the basic hardware specs as originally shipped.
