Setting up my new PC. Have a Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 sound card that was installed by the manufacturer. I'm using my 5.1 speakers i had on my old pc, which I think had a SB Live 5.1 card.

When I do the speaker test all the channels work, but when i play a cd or audio files through Media player 10 my surround doesn't work. Only the 2 fronts do.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

The audio you are playing must have been encoded as 5.1 surround sound to get surround sound output. There isn't that much audio that is surround sound. As far as I know, there are no surround sound MP3s. There are some video games and some DVD movies.
