FOr about a year I've been having problems with my speakers and was just living with it. I bought new speakers and wuffer hoping to fix the problem. ITS STILL THERE. After my computer is on for a little why they quite working. No sound. I have to restart the computer and they are fine.

Any ideas.

Contact your manufacturer or visit the manufacturer's web site to look for information on disabling your onboard sound card. Some allow it to be disabled from software you run from Windows or DOS and some allow you to disable this in the BIOS, while others may require you to move a jumper or throw a switch on the motherboard itself to disable it (and sometimes, in conjunction with running a program on the PC itself). Follow their instructions to disable it, and then install your new sound card.
