Comment:

I ran into something starnge lately several times.
I get spam mail whose sender has a name let's say Tom. and this "Tom" 's address is my email...
So if I send it to my Blocked List (Norton Antispam) I'm sending my own address which isn't exactly something I would like to do.
Is there a way around this to avoid the phenomena?
How does it happen? It wasn't really sent from my computer?
I'd like to know if someone came across this? And if there is any solution?

To put it more simply, it would be no different than someone addressing a letter to you and putting your address as the addressee AND using your address as the return address - then simply dropping that letter in the mailbox.

You will then get a letter to you which also appears to be from you! !?

Your email address could have been grabbed from the address book of an infected machine (just one possibility).

If you've ever left your email address in open text on the web then this could be the start of wadges of junk email. The spammers sell email address CD's to each other. Try a Google search for your email address.

... it's there, so consider changing your email address because removing the entry now will be too late. It's safe on this website because registered members have to click your name to get it.

No spammers engine does that, they just search for "at signs". If you must leave your email address in open text then disguise it somehow, such as:

alma99 "at sign" server dot org
