XP home, updated to SP2. Two accounts. Mine works wonderfull. Wife's is dog slow after SP2.
I ran every test I can thing of perfmon, taskman, netsh diag. All seem to say that nothing is going on. I see no sign that any attempt is being made to access the internet or any bottleneck. I make a new user and it works great.
Any ideas on how to find out why that one account takes so long to access the internet?
No bit deal really since I just made a new account but it really has me stumped. I can't take it anymore, arrggghhh

Well, I can think of a few things...did you defrag the computer before installing SP2? Have you tried to defrag it after installing SP2? Have you tried to use the Disk Cleanup Utility? Have you cleared your page files? Have you gotten rid of all tmp files?
Another thing: your wife's hard disk might be getting full...
This is just for starters...

Separate accounts on XP have different stuff in startup and separate temp folders and such. Run spybot, anti-virus, disk cleanup, and check your startup stuff in msconfig. Do all of this under that account. You may have to run that stuff in safe mode depending on how hosed that account has become.
