Here is my problem:

I installed Windows XP Pro with SP2 v2096 beta onto my system, I want to remove this version of SP2 and replace it with the latest version. I have tried everything to remove it but all the methods I have read failed. I came here because I know you guys are very talented when it comes to computers so please help me to get the latest build of SP2 and I REALLY DO NOT want to reformat my harddrive again :-).

Thank-you very much!!!

Xcite

Hi,
to remove SP2 try going to control pannel and see if its there. if not:

go to c:/windows/ and click on tools folder options click on the view tab then click show hidden files and folders.
now on c:/windows/ look for
$NtServicePackUninstall$
double click on it
then click on spuninst
double click on the uninstall icon "spuninst"
you SHOULD be able to uninstall SP2 that way
;)

I am very sorry all for not posting back I was busy all last night and didnt have chance to get to my computer. XpUser thank-you that is great! I am just wondering though does it carry a big risk following that as it says "Do this at your own risk" the other problem is "First to uninstall the beta build of SP2 currently installed" this is the problem I am having difficulty with. To answer your question per I do have a full XP CD but it does come with the SP2 peta percofigured on it.

Sorry for not posting back sooner!!!

Thank-you!!!!!
