Comment:
SP 2 installed fine yesterday. However, now, when I go to the Windows Update page, I get the following message: "Windows Update has encountered an error and cannot display the requested page...." The error number listed in Ox80072EFD.
I'm also using SystemWorks 2004 and Zone Alarm Pro. OS is XP Pro.
I've disabled the Windows Firewall and Automatic Updates.

First try re-enable Automatic Updates and go to WU to see if it works.

keltikgent,
I doubt the new update system is flawed because all my PCs are able to access WU just fine. I think its what people do to their PC after they installed SP2. It's just my 2-cents.

I may have found the answer. I have Zone Alarm Pro running. I disabled the firewall, and Windows Update works fine.
Fortunately I'm using a router, so I still have some measure of security once I disable Zone Alarm
Looks like another patch is coming. I can't be the only one with the problem.
Thanks for the help.

I want to give credit where it's due. I'd never have considered disabling Zone Alarm if I hadn't read yankanuk's solution to a similar problem.
Thanks, yankanuk!
