SP2 and monitor screen resolution

Hello all. My boss just downloaded SP2 and now the screen resolution is set to 4. I've been totally locked out of any changes - i.e. - when I go to Display and then to the monitor I can't make any changes. I can't increase the resolution. And when I click on Advanced (from Settings under Display) I can't access the Properties tab under Monitor Type. It's stuck on 4 bits. HELP! Does anybody have any suggestions? I've even tried changing monitors. I've attempted to update the driver, but Samsung doesn't support this model anymore. Thanks~

Hi Cindy, If it were me, I'd google for an equivalent driver compatible with the Samsung monitor model. You could try it this way.

If you are stuck at 4 bits instead of 16 or 32 I would start looking for a graphics card driver. The colour depth and resolution is a function of the graphics card. Nothing to do with the monitor, unless its a very old one that never did 800x600 at 16/32 bits ever.

Yes, Stuart is correct. I meant to say "equivalent driver compatible with your video card." Stuart, I guess its time for my break :-)
